You have an important meeting in the next few minutes when you suddenly realize that the power point presentation you made is lying at your home PC. Does the situation ring a bell? What have you done? Perplexed? No. don’t panic anymore as connecting to a remote PC becomes a reality.

We are talking about MobiFlexi app that allows you to remotely access your home PC from anywhere you are through your mobile. All you need is GPRS connectivity and you phone enables you to create, edit, attaché an document that is lying somewhere else. Normally inorder to send a file across we either attach the file or paste a link on an email, but here all you have to do is to send a SMS with a URL to the person. Suppose you want to send a excel sheet to your colleague, all you have to do is to click ‘send SMS’ with the URL, enter his mobile number and send.

It might sound complicated that actually its pretty simple. MobiFlexi comes at a subscription of Rs 300. Install the CD, create your username and password that will be required whenevr you want to access your PC remotely. One done the user is all set to view his entire desktop on his handset.

This app also enables you to transfer images, attachments, videos and other data from your Cell Phone to the remote PC. You can listen to all the songs stored in your PC through the phone. So no need to shellout more to get more memory for your phone. The solution allows the user to fax documents residing on the remote PC. The same goes for printing documents too! A person sitting in Delhi can order a printout in Berlin right from his desk. He can just log onto the desired computer with his password and get going. However\, ti achieve all these functionalities a string GPRS connectivity is a prerequisite. In a country like India quality of GPRS connectivity is still an issue.

The developers claim that they are working on adding new functionalities to the solution and very soon it will be offered by the network operators. If this is the case then the operator need to work on providing better connectivity through phones. One ray of hope is the possibility of 3G and Wimax coming to India soon. If that happens, this app will truly redefine connectivity. Keep fingers crossed? So are we.
